Rosemary T. McGuire


Rosemary T. McGuire is a partner with The Law Firm of Weakley, Ratliff, Arendt & McGuire. She received her Juris Doctor in 1994 from San Joaquin College of Law. She is admitted to practice law in all courts of the State of California, including the California Supreme Court. She is also admitted to practice law in federal courts including the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, United States District Court for the Central District of California, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal.

Ms. McGuire’s practice focuses on the representation of business and public entities and their employees. She has extensive experience handling cases involving child protective services liability, police liability, and civil rights litigation. She also has experience in litigation involving Proposition 65 and the Americans with Disability Act (ADA).

Ms. McGuire has significant trial experience in both state and federal court. Her trial experience includes successfully defending business and public employees and entities in personal injury, wrongful death, and civil rights cases. Her appellate court experience includes handling appeals in both the Ninth Circuit and the Fifth District Courts of Appeal.

Ms. McGuire is a member of the Fresno County Bar Association, Fresno County Women Lawyers, the Federal Bar Association, the Northern California Defense Counsel Association, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, and the Central California Adjusters Association. She is currently the president-elect of the San Joaquin Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. She has served on the planning committee for the Eastern District of California District Conference for the last four years. She is serving her fourth year as a lawyer representative from the Eastern District of California for the Ninth Circuit, and serves on the Eastern District Judicial Advisory Committee. Ms. McGuire has been the presenter at seminars sponsored by the Institute for Paralegal Education. She also acts as a judge pro tem for the Fresno County Superior Court, Juvenile Division.
