Bio
Scott J. Lasso practices with the firm’s workers’ compensation section representing employers and insurance carriers in litigation under the North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Act. Scott has represented defendants before the North Carolina Industrial Commission and North Carolina appellate courts for 25 years. He also represents defendants is civil liability litigation in North Carolina’s Magistrate, District, and Superior Courts.
Scott grew up in Gulfport, Mississippi and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi, “Ole Miss”, in 1989. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Wake Forest University School of Law in 1992 and began his law career that same year in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Workers’ Compensation Section.
Outside of his law career, Scott is married to the former Sarah Baldwin of Atlanta, Georgia, whom he met at Ole Miss, and has 5 children, 3 of who have attended or are attending Wofford College, Clemson University, and Ole Miss. He is a member of White Memorial Presbyterian Church where he teaches middle school Sunday School and serves as a Confirmation Mentor. Scott enjoys watching sports, primarily soccer, and participates in Raleigh’s F3 (Fitness, Fellowship and Faith).
